A declaration of due diligence declarations will be required at one of two checkpoints if you are using genetic resources covered by the Nagoya Protocol. If your project reaches either checkpoint, you must submit a due diligence declaration.
If using genetic resources covered by the Nagoya Protocol, there are two checkpoints in the research and development phase where a due diligence declaration must be submitted to the UK Competent Authority.

On reaching either checkpoint:
- Complete the relevant due diligence declaration template:

- Send the completed form to the research governance team who will assist in submitting the declaration to the Defra on behalf of the University
