Researchfish Node Administrator Session, Thursday 14th November 2019

The annual UKRI submission period on Researchfish will be the 3rd February to 12th March 2020. In preparation for the submission period, the Research Office is running a workshop for node administrators and other administrative involved in this process. The session will cover

  • the process for checking awards
  • response codes guidance
  • how to use Researchfish

X5 - Screen Amendments

Following feedback from the X5 User Group, some small screen amendments in X5 are going to be made which will remove features that aren’t used and ensure that terminology is more consistent. X5 will be updated with these amendments on Thursday 31st October and the list of live fields and text changes can be found on the ROO website.

 

Finance System Survey and Feedback Session

The Finance Business Transformation Programme (FBTP) are seeking views from all the staff across the University who are involved in any financial activities (both recipients of the financial services or users of financial systems). Staff are able to give their opinions by signing up to one of the feedback sessions planned over the next couple of weeks or completing the online survey by 4th November.

The aim is to collate all views about the existing financial activities at the University, identify needs in regards to financial services and ultimately help to design better financial solutions. If you have any questions, please contact fbtprogramme@admin.cam.ac.uk.

 

British Heart Foundation – New Research Grant Management System

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is moving to a new research grants management system in January 2020 which means that they will soon stop accepting applications made through their current system. There will be deadlines for each grant type which you can find on the BHF website. Applications that are not submitted to the BHF by the relevant deadline will be deleted and won’t be migrated to the new Flexi-Grant system.

 

ERC Public Engagement with Research Award 2020

The European Research Council (ERC) has launched their first competition for ERC Public Engagement with Research Award. The purpose of the award is to recognise ERC grant holders who engage with audiences beyond the scientific community and do so in effective and original ways. The award has three categories

  • public outreach

  • press and media relations

  • online and social media

The winners will be announced at an award ceremony which will take place at the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) in Trieste, Italy, in July 2020. The deadline for application is 10th January 2020 at 16:00 UK time.
