On 16th May 2022, UKRI published updated guidance on accessing the underwrite guarantee funding for successfully awarded Horizon Europe projects. The UKRI systems will open as follows
EU Call Type | UKRI Host System | Opening date for UKRI Funding Route |
Collaborative R&D grants (Pillar 2 and some Pillar 1 & Pillar 3 projects) | IFS | 16th May 2022 |
EIT KICs 2022 | IFS | 23rd May 2022 |
MSCA PF 2021 | Je-S | 31st May 2022 |
MSCA & Citizens 2022 | Je-S | 31st May 2022 |
ERC PoC 2022-PoC 1 | Je-S | 31st May 2022 |
ERC Consolidator / Advanced 2021 | Je-S | 14th June 2022 |
MSCA DN 2021 | Je-S | July 2022 (tbc) |
These routes are only open to successfully awarded projects submitted to the calls for which the last legal date for signing the grant agreements is expected to pass before 31 December 2022. The Research Operations Office teams will be in touch with those Horizon Europe projects eligible to apply for UKRI funds via these routes in due course.
Although dates have been announced for the system opening, UKRI are still to provide specific guidance on the EIT, MSCA, and ERC PoC calls. We will circulate once the guidance is released.
The terms and conditions for ERC Advanced Grant and Consolidator Grant are expected to be similar to ERC Starting Grant which is already open for submissions through Je-S. The ROO FAQ page is continually being updated so please do check back regularly for updates.
