The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) changed its research data policy in March 2015. It is very important that all ESRC beneficiaries are aware of the research data sharing requirements outlined in the policy. ESRC beneficiaries are not only obliged to share data resulting from ESRC-funded research, but they are also required to prepare data management plans as an integral part of their grant applications. Data management plans should also include budget for the cost of research data management and sharing.
