Global Health Research

Introduction
An increasing number of University of Cambridge researchers are working on Global Health Research projects with partners in Low-and Middle Income Countries. Projects range from lab research into pathogens or public health modelling through to interventional trials involving human participants. These pages aim to give you some further information about health research with partners in LMICs.
Any projects involving human participants, their tissue, or their data require specific approvals before they can start. Please read the 'Sponsorship, Ethics and Insurance' page to find out more.
For guidance on Contracts, Finance and other regulatory matters relating to global health research, please see: 'Contracts, Finance and Working with International Partners'.
Finding funding
The Research Office has dedicated pages about finding funding with useful guidance and links. Global health research projects are often eligible to apply to Offical Development Aid (ODA) funding schemes, such as the UKRI GCRF or NIHR Global Health. The UK Collaborative on Development Research (UKCDR) has a list of open calls from various major UK funders.
For more information about ODA eligible research, you can visit the dedicated ROO pages, here.
