The European Commission is organising new webinars for Horizon Europe applicants, coordinators and other stakeholders as follows:

ERC 2025 Starting Grant
The aim of the ERC Starting grant is to support individual researchers that are starting or consolidating their own independent research team or programme and who can demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their scientific proposal. Guidance and the crib sheet for the current call is now available on the ROO website.
United States Federal funding - Foreign Talent Recruitment Programs
To ensure compliance with the U.S. Public Law 117-167, related to Foreign Talent Recruitment Programs (FTRP), the University has established the Procedure for Handling Participation in Foreign Talent Recruitment Programs. This document contains the guidelines for disclosure, certification and reporting requirements for a Covered Individual (this includes PIs, Co-Is, researchers, students and other key personnel).
Further information is available on the Research Office website and there will also be a presentation on this topic at the Research Grants User Group meeting on 8th October.

Wellcome Trust Organisation Spend Report – Departmental Expenditure Checks
An Organisational Spend Report (OSR) is submitted quarterly to the Wellcome Trust (WT) by the Research Operations Office (ROO) for the months of March, June, September and December. Before ROO submits the next OSR, please could Departments check and verify all their WT expenditure on CUFS and make any amendments before the September 2024 General Ledger period closes.

Reminder - Book your Worktribe training now
Are you a member of professional services staff involved in the applications or contracts stages of research grants in the School of Clinical Medicine or the School of Biological Sciences?
Ahead of Worktribe being introduced to the remaining schools and institutions during Michaelmas Term 2024, it is essential that you book your training now to succeed with the new system. Specific information will be made available separately for Heads of Department and Principal Investigators.

Reminder - Research Grants User Group meeting, 8th October
The next Research Grants User Group (RGUG) will take place as a Teams meeting on Tuesday 8th October 2pm – 3pm. This is an open meeting for any staff with an interest in grants administration. The agenda will include Equitable Collaboration and Partnerships, US Foreign Talent Recruitment Programs and a Worktribe Implementation update. Further details will be circulated nearer the time.
