Worktribe launch timeline and managing cross-school collaborations from 1st July 2024

Worktribe is launching in the School of Technology on Monday 1st July. This is a big milestone and an exciting step forward. Thank you to all those involved for your support and contributions so far – we will learn from the school’s experience as we introduce Worktribe across the rest of the University in a phased manner over the next six months. View the launch timeline for all schools and institutions.

As the introduction of the new system is phased, this means some schools will still be working on X5, while others have access to Worktribe. As schools move to using Worktribe, their access to X5 will be made read-only. A dedicated Worktribe Transition Support Team (TST) will be available in the Research Office from 1st July to support cross-school collaborations. The lead department on an application (whether an X5 or Worktribe user) must email the TST at worktribecrossschool@uis.cam.ac.uk no later than 10 days before the funder deadline to request support.

Read step-by-step guidance on how this process will work.

IARU Early-Career Collaboration Grants 2024

This International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU) Early-Career Collaboration Grants Scheme is for early-career academics and provides funds to cover the costs of a short-term research visit at another IARU university.

Current early-career researchers, i.e. those who are no longer postdoctoral researchers but who are still within 10 years of submitting their PhD, at any IARU university can apply. All applicants must be employed by an IARU university at the time the visit is planned to take place, and grants are intended for those on permanent contracts. The host university does not need to already be involved in the applicant’s research. Individuals can apply for up to US$5,000. This should be used to cover the costs of travel, accommodation, maintenance, and other expenses related to their visit. Visits can be planned for any time between 1st October 2024 and 1st October 2025.

Applications must be received by 15th July 2024. For more information, please visit the IARU website.
