UK Association to Horizon Europe

The Latest EC News has been updated to include details on the association of the UK to the Horizon Europe Programme and implications on the open and forthcoming calls.

  • Successful applicants to calls under 2024 Work Programme and onwards will be funded directly by Horizon Europe
  • Successful UK applicants to calls under the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2023 (and previous years) will be funded under the UKRI Guarantee Funding

We have updated the crib sheet for the ERC Starting Grant (ERC-StG-2024, closing date: 24th October 2023) to reflect these changes, as successful applicants will be funded directly by Horizon Europe and will therefore not need to follow previous advice for submitting applications to calls covered by the UKRI Guarantee.

The other ERC 2024 calls will be also funded through Horizon Europe -

  • ERC-SyG-2024, closing date: 8th November 2023
  • ERC-CoG-2024, closing date: 12th December 2023
  • ERC-PoC-2024, cut off dates: 14th March 2024 and 17th September 2024
  • ERC-AdG-2024, closing date: 29th August 2024

Head of Department delegated letter of authority for research grants

Heads of Department (HoD) have responsibility regarding the supervision of resources and finances as defined in the University’s Financial Regulations (Section B). However, in some circumstances, the regulations allow the HoD to delegate various aspects of research grant management whilst retaining the responsibility for them.

The HoD should use the delegated letter of authority template to inform the Research Operations Office of the named individuals and their signing limits related to the various aspects of research grants management. This should be done on an annual basis or sooner if there is a staff change involving delegated authority.

This procedure is subject to change as it will be reviewed as part of the Transforming Research Support Programme. If you have any queries, please contact crocompliance@admin.cam.ac.uk
