Wellcome Trust Organisation Spend Report – Departmental Expenditure Checks

An Organisational Spend Report (OSR) is submitted quarterly to the Wellcome Trust (WT) by the Research Operations Office (ROO) for the months of March, June, September and December. Before ROO submits the OSR, please could Departments check and verify all their WT expenditure on CUFS and make any amendments before the June 2021 General Ledger period closes. If you have any queries, please contact Sarah.Saemian@admin.cam.ac.uk

Cognos Reporting Upgrade – Wednesday 30th June

In order to implement critical security updates, the Finance Division will be upgrading the Cognos reporting tool from version 10.2.1 to version 11.1.7 on Wednesday 30th June, once all overnight processing has been completed. The system will therefore be unavailable between 8am and 4pm on that day.

The new version has a different look and feel – please see this short video that provides a quick overview of the main differences. However, in general the reports themselves and how you run them has not changed. Any saved reports and schedules will also migrate over.

In order to make the migration as smooth as possible, please could you delete any saved reports or queries that are no longer required before 30th June. The one difference for Grants users is that the Grants Expenditure Enquiry portal tab will no longer be available and instead it is recommended that users run the Consolidated Grants Expenditure Enquiry report instead and then save it as a favorite.

More guidance and links to FAQ will be available on the Finance Training web pages. In the meantime if you have any questions please contact the Finance Systems Group at FSG.system.support@admin.ac.uk
