ERC Advanced Grant Call 2020, Webinar for Applicants - 26th June 2020

 

The EU team are organising a series of information events for the ERC advanced grant call 2020. The deadline for this call is 26th August 2020.

Speakers will be:

o   Prof. Judith Driscoll, ERC Advanced grant holder

o   Prof. Robin Franklin, Panel Chair and Panel Member for ERC Advanced grant calls

 

Our second webinar will take place on Friday 26th June 2020 from 11:00 to 12:00 and is aimed at researchers interested in applying for 2020 call.

Wellcome Trust Organisation Spend Report – Departmental Expenditure Checks

An Organisational Spend Report (OSR) is submitted quarterly to the Wellcome Trust (WT) by the Research Operations Office (ROO) for the months of March, June, September and December. Before ROO submits the OSR, could Departments check and verify all their WT expenditure on CUFS and make any amendments before the General Ledger closes at the end of June.

Research Grants User Group Meeting

Thank you to everyone who attended the Research Grants User Group (RGUG) Meeting on Tuesday 16th June, the presentation slides are now available on the RGUG webpages. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 28th July at 11:15am, further details will follow.

 

Research Investigator Time Policy

A new Research Investigator Time Policy is being introduced from 1st August 2020 to improve cost recovery and better reflect the true cost of research.  Details of the new policy can be found on the ROO website and the presentation slides on this topic from Tuesday’s Research Grants User Group Meeting are also available.

Cambridge-Africa Alborada Research Fund 2020

The Cambridge-Africa programme is pleased to announce that the call for proposals to the ALBORADA Research Fund, is now open. Applications are invited from pairs of researchers (post-doctoral level and above) from the University of Cambridge or an affiliated institution and sub-Saharan African institutions, across all disciplines, to initiate and/or strengthen research collaborations. The Cambridge-Africa ALBORADA Research Fund competitively awards grants of between £1,000 and £20,000, for:

  • research costs (such as reagents, fieldwork and equipment)
  • research-related travel between Cambridge and Africa
  • conducting research training activities in Africa (e.g. workshops/courses)
