The Royal Society Open Meeting - Tuesday 28th January

The Royal Society Grants Team is visiting the University of Cambridge on 28th January 2020. Their talk is open to everyone and includes

  • A presentation from Royal Society grants staff about the different funding options and advice on how to apply (30 minutes)
  • Presentations from Royal Society Research Fellows based at Cambridge covering their experiences of applying for and holding funding from the Society (around 30 minutes)
  • Q&A session (up to 30 minutes)
  • Networking and informal questions with refreshments (around 45 minutes)

EPSRC Open Meeting - Wednesday 29th January

On Wednesday 29th January 2020, John Hand - Head of the Physical Sciences Theme at the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council is visiting Cambridge. He is holding an open meeting and will

  • present the purpose, aims and funding schemes available within EPSRC Physical Sciences

  • discuss how the science community can better interact with the EPSRC

  • take Q and A session

ROOTS Tier 2 - Research Grants Programme

 

The Research Operations Office is about to embark on the ROOTS Tier 2 Research Grants Programme 2020 for grants administrators in departments. Consisting of seven separate morning sessions, the modules comprise a mix of skills development and knowledge transfer utilising workshops, group work and discussions where delegates are encouraged to learn from each other as well as from the contributors.

Following on from the completion of the 2019 Programme, we are pleased to invite Expressions of Interest from all staff within the University who play an active role in the Research Grants Lifecycle. Participation is via a nomination from your Departmental Administrator or Line Manager by completing the Expression of Interest form and emailing Debbie.West-Lewis@admin.cam.ac.uk by 13th January 2020.
