Research Grants Programme
The Research Operations Office is about to embark on the 2020 Research Grants Programme for Administrators. Consisting of seven separate morning sessions, the modules comprise a mix of skills development and knowledge transfer utilising workshops, group work and discussions where delegates are encouraged to learn from each other as well as from the contributors.
Following on from the completion of the 2019 Programme, we are pleased to invite Expressions of Interest from all staff within the University who play an active role in the Research Grants Lifecycle. Participation is via a nomination from your Departmental Administrator or Line Manager by completing the Expression of Interest form and emailing Debbie.West-Lewis@admin.cm.ac.uk by 13th January 2020.
Research Administration Open Day
We would like to gauge topic suggestions for a proposed Research Administration Open Day. This presents an opportunity to discuss what transforming research administration at Cambridge means for all of us together. To help us plan the event, it would be useful if you could complete this brief survey by Monday 20 January 2020. If you have any questions, please contact Daniel.Wunderlich@admin.cam.ac.uk
Updated Policy Framework on Research Data Management
There has been an update to the University’s Policy Framework on Research Data Management. The new version reflects the expectations of best practice held by the major funders of the University and is applicable to all research staff and students. Research data is expected to be managed in a sensible, secure and robust manner from the beginning to the end of a project. Where possible, data should also be shared in order to increase the transparency and reusability of the research conducted at the University.
All researchers from Principal Investigators to PhDs have a responsibility towards good data management and are encouraged to read the Policy Framework. If you have any questions about the Policy Framework or research data management please contact the Research Data Management Facility info@data.cam.ac.uk or visit the website www.data.cam.ac.uk.
