Researchfish Submission Deadline – 14th March 2019

The deadline for PIs to submit their research outcomes into Researchfish is Thursday 14th March at 4pm for the following major funders UKRI, CRUK, BHF, NIHR, NC3Rs, AMS and Rosetrees Trust awards. Wellcome Trust grant holders whose grant ends between 1st October 2018 and 30th September 2019 are also required to make a submission.

Currently only 45% of PIs who are required to make a submission have done so. Those PIs who do not make a submission by the deadline may face sanctions which includes withholding funds for current award holders and not being eligible to apply for future grants. Please encourage your PIs to log onto their Researchfish account and submit their return. Further details are available on the ROO website.

Innovate UK Grants – Timesheet Guidance

In response to the recent Guidance from Innovate UK (TSB) on Staff Costs, timesheets need to be completed for staff who work less than 100% of their time on the project and should be charged as Directly Incurred (similar to the UKRI).

Timesheets will need to be made available to the Monitoring Officer as required in order to be assured that the claim is an accurate reflection and can be processed accordingly. If you have any queries regarding this please contact Sara.Hajnassiri@admin.cam.ac.uk

X5 Costing for Access to Henry Royce Institute Facilities

When costing grant applications to access shared equipment through the Henry Royce Institute, the EPSRC have advised that Royce equipment access costs must be entered into X5 as "Non-staff – Other Directly Incurred - OTHER COSTS – Consumables (Description of Equipment)" and not in the “Facilities” tab.

This is because the Henry Royce Institute is not formally a UK National Laboratory / Facility, therefore access charges are calculated by the University Departments where the equipment is located. Further information can be found on the EPSRC website under subheading "other costs".
