Upgrade to pFACT: 19 - 25 August 2010

The pFACT upgrade will be taking place from 10am on Thursday 19 August to 10am on Wednesday 25 August 2010.  From 11am on Thursday 19th August a "Read Only" version will be available. In preparation for the upgrade, could all users perform a system tidy up by Thursday 12 August? This means projects that are no longer required and are sitting at the status of ‘Under Construction’, ‘DA’ or ‘HoD’ need to be deleted. Please note that deleted proposals cannot be recovered.

If there are any experienced users of pFACT who would like to be involved in testing prior to the upgrade, please contact Dawn.Edwards@admin.cam.ac.uk by Friday 23 July.  Testing will take place on Monday 26 & Tuesday 27 July at Greenwich House.

Information about the benefits of the upgrade, timetable for implementation and testing period can be found on the news page of the Research Office website http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/offices/research/news/Default.aspx?id=254

If you have any queries or require any assistance, please contact the pFACT Helpdesk at pFACT.Helpdesk@admin.cam.ac.uk

The presentation is aimed at anyone who has an interest in Wellcome Trust research grants including academics, facilitators and administrators. Reminder: Research Professional - demonstration sessions

Research Professional is a funding opportunities database. To help you use Research Professional effectively, the Research Office have organised a demonstration session to take place in a webinar format (online tutorial) to help academics and research administrators to use the new features of the database to its full potential. From any computer within the University Network, you can watch and listen to a 40 minute online presentation; basic and advanced functions will be covered and there will be an opportunity to ask questions via the online chat feature.  The sessions will take place on the following dates:

Wednesday 28th July at 12pm

Wednesday 4th August at 2pm

If you would like to take part in one of the sessions, please contact hannah.pawson@admin.cam.ac.uk and include your preferred date and your Department.
