Advance Notice - Symplectic upgrade w/c 15 August 2016
Due to planned maintenance work Symplectic will be unavailable from 15-19 August 2016. The system will be upgraded to version 5.1.1, which has a new look and feel as well as additional functionality. During this time, it may be possible to login to the system, but a full re-index (which takes several days) will run after the upgrade and a number of pages will be unavailable. Similarly, any changes made may not be saved. More information will be posted on the Research Information website over the next few weeks.
New Income Allocation Policy – ERC PI time income split now extended to all H2020 awards
In an update to the new IAP, the 50:50 split between Chest and Department of PI time income for chest-funded PIs for ERC awards, has been extended to apply to all H2020 awards. The update was implemented as part of the new IAP which came into effect on 1st August 2016.
ERC Starting Grant Information session
This session will be aimed at Researchers planning to apply to the European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant scheme.
It will include a brief overview of the scheme by Sara Imarisio, the ERC Officer at ROO, with hints and tips from Dr Thomas Sauerwald, current grant holder, and Prof Sarah Bray, evaluator. The second event will be on the 7th of September and will be run by Bethan Jones, speakers to be confirmed.

New Concordat on Open Data launched
RCUK, HEFCE, Wellcome Trust and Universities UK have issued a new joint Concordat on Open Research Data , which sets out expectations and principles for working with and sharing research data. The Concordat has been developed with researchers and aims to encourage and support the sharing of research data where appropriate.
