1. Changes to Income Allocation Policy- effective from 1st August 2016

Changes to the Income Allocation Policy come into effect for awards activated on and after 1st August 2016.  The new policy will increasingly affect new and existing costings in progress.  A message has been added to the X5 costing screen notifying users of the new policy, but please note that the Indicative Department share on the price tab in X5 is likely to be over-stated where the award arising from a pre-August costing is activated after 1st August.

For full details on the new policy and changes please see http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/cam-only/univ/fec/allocation.html. If you have any questions about how this will affect your current costing/award, please contact your RSA in the Research Operations Office, or for Industry sponsors with a potential fEC recovery below 100% please contact your Assistant Director.

2. RGUG meeting on 23 June cancelled

Please note that the RGUG meeting on 23 June 2016 has been cancelled. The date of the next RGUG meeting will be communicated in due time. For all information regarding RGUG meetings please refer to the ROO website.

3. Upgrade of electronic grants submission service in 2017

Research Councils will be upgrading their electronic grants submission service in 2017. The Je-S system has come to a natural end and this is an opportunity to design a smarter, simpler more user friendly service in line with the latest digital standards. Work is already underway to design the new awards service. This work is based on extensive user research with a wide range of applicants, peer reviewers, panel members, and RO staff.
