X5 Update - new fEC and MRF/SRF rates
Please be advised that X5 has been updated with the new fEC rates, as well as the amended MRF/SRF rates for 2016.
We request that users update their costings (the Rates Tab in X5) in order to ensure the new rates are uploaded. If you have facilities in your costing, you will be required to update the Funder and UFS budget headings.
Should you have any queries related to the updates, please contact your Research Support Advisor at the Research Operations Office
Budget Calculator - PI Incentive removed
From the 1st Feb. 2016 the PI incentive in the budget calculator has been removed. Please note that this new split is applied to grants from the 1st Feb. 2016 onwards irrespective of the application date.
The PI incentive was an attempt to encourage PIs to increase the amount of time they put on RCUK applications to reflect a more realistic time commitment. Instead of the department receiving 14% of the income (based on the 1:6 ratio) it would then receive 30% of the PI salary awarded. This has now reverted back to 14%, until the new income allocation policy is introduced in August.
Researchfish: submission period for RCUK now open
Researchfish is a research outcomes collection system for researchers and students. Research outcomes can be uploaded throughout the year but must be submitted during the submission period of the respective funders.
The submission period for the following sponsors is now open:
-RCUK
-Cancer Research UK
-British Heart Foundation
-NC3Rs
The deadline is 10 March, 4pm (except NC3Rs’ deadline is 17 Mar 2016). To assist with this, three FAQ guides are now available from the ROO website: for Node Administrators, Researchers and Students. More essential information can be found on the ROO website.
Round table discussion about CC BY requirements
The Research Data Management team would like to welcome everyone to take part in a round table discussion about current open access policy requirements that articles are published with a CC-BY licence. They wish to hear stories of how the licence affects scholarly publishing both positively and negatively - in particular within Arts and Humanities disciplines. Come to express your opinions about the licence and influence the development of Open Access policies at Cambridge.
