Guidance for Researchfish node administrators

Node administrators are monitoring the submissions of research outcomes in Researchfish from PIs in their Department. Based on frequently asked questions we have compiled a user guide for Researchfish.

Node administrators- amendments on Researchfish by mid-January

The Research Operations Office has provided Researchfish with an up-to-date list of node allocations for all awards. Researchfish will need time to upload the information. We expect that amendments will be made by mid-January. Until then, Node Administrators will only be able to view the awards that were on the system for the 2014 Submission Period.

Wellcome Trust’s and CRUK’s requirements for data sharing – meet the funders

David Carr from the Wellcome Trust and Jamie Enoch from Cancer Research UK are coming to Cambridge to talk with researchers about research data sharing. They will give short talks about their requirements for data sharing and afterwards you will have the opportunity to ask them any questions you might have.

Benefits of coming to the session:

  • you will get to know all the necessary information about the Wellcome's/CRUK's requirements for sharing research data
  • you will know the benefits of data sharing and how funders wish to reward the process
  • you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about data sharing directly of funders
  • you will have the opportunity to share your fears/worries directly with funders

Everyone is invited:

  • principal investigators
  • postdocs
  • research staff
  • administrative staff
  • students

Strategies for managing social media research data

This workshop will focus on the challenges of managing social media data for research across the lifecycle of a research project and beyond. Participants will explore the following questions with our panel of experts:

  • How can I plan the collection of social media data for my research?
  • Is it possible to preserve and retain social media data?
  • Who owns social media data and how will this affect my research?
  • Are there ethical and legal challenges related to social media data preservation?
  • Is social media data preservation important to the integrity and replicability of my research?

The workshop is an excellent opportunity to discuss these and any other questions you might have about managing social media.
