To allow researchers to apply for and receive US Federal funding, the University of Cambridge needs to be registered on the "System for Award Management" (SAM), an official website of the U.S. government. The University is required to renew its registration annually to ensure we comply with any new federal requirements.

This year, due to additional compliance requirements, for a short period of time the University was unable to register on the SAM. However, as of 25th January 2022 the University is re-registered on the SAM. Researchers can now apply for and receive US Federal Funding in the usual way.

A team of people from the Research Operations Office, Legal Services Office and University Information Services will continue to work with US lawyers to formulate a set of policies and practices to capture the required information and to create a framework of compliance measures. Once this work is complete, we will make these new policy and practices available to you.
