Commercial suppliers are interested in the antibodies, cell lines, proteins and other reagents you generate in your lab. The availability of these research reagents is important for the worldwide research community and a number of commercial companies have been set-up to meet this need by supplying reagents.
Cambridge Enterprise, the University’s commercialisation group, has established a service to license reagents in a straightforward way. The commercial supplier maintains and distributes the reagent, allowing you to concentrate on research. Any revenue from the sales of reagents is shared with you according to the University’s IP Policy, and you remain free to distribute your reagents as you wish to academic colleagues and collaborators.
