Worktribe upgrade coming in spring 2025
The next system upgrade of Worktribe is coming in the spring of 2025. Benefits include the ability to save progress when working on the risk assessment and allowing Principal Investigators to add a project manager to assist them.
There will be minimal impact on Worktribe users. Expect a brief downtime of up to half a day. Training is not required, but guidance will be available. We will confirm the exact date soon and consider key funder deadlines.
The Cambridge Research Office introduces continuous improvements based on your feedback. This includes system upgrades from Worktribe Ltd. We also develop reports, publish new online guidance, and make other changes.

Empowering research excellence: TRS programme extended to 2028
The University’s Planning and Resources Committee has approved the extension of the Transforming Research Support (TRS) programme until July 2028. In 2024, the TRS programme worked with the Cambridge Research Office, Schools, departments and institutions to launch Worktribe. The system has already improved pre-award, contracts processes, and post-award implementation is scheduled for July 2025.
The next phase will focus on:
- digital infrastructure improvements
- operating model transformation
- eliminating outdated systems
Dr Andrew Jackson, Director of Research Services, comments:
"Extending the TRS programme will allow us to make the most of the new system, enhance our research support services and continue making it easier to carry out world-class research at Cambridge".
