There is a growing expectation for researchers to offset the carbon emissions generated by unavoidable business travel. At the forefront of this, from 1st October 2021 the Wellcome Trust's carbon offset policy for travel requires applications for their funding to include arrangements for carbon offsetting.
The University's Carbon Offsetting Working Group has developed a policy with an internal carbon offsetting scheme for use from 2021/22. The policy guidance for individuals, departments and institutions has now been published.
