Researchfish funder submission deadline: 14 March 2024
The deadline for PIs to submit their research outcomes into Researchfish is Thursday 14th March at 4pm for most major funders including UKRI, CRUK, BHF, NIHR and WT. Reporting outcomes are a requirement of accepting an award and PIs who do not comply may be subject to sanctions from their funder.
Please encourage PIs to complete their Researchfish submission in good time before the deadline. Further information about the submission process is available on the ROO website.
Open research deposit via Elements unavailable 5-8 March 2024
An Elements upgrade is taking place from Tuesday 5th March at 5pm until Friday 8th March 2024. During this time, it will not be possible to make open access, research data or doctoral thesis deposits from Elements into the University repository Apollo. The upgrade is being done in order to support a new preprint deposit service for University of Cambridge researchers.

Unlocking Success: Insider Insights for Winning Horizon Europe Health Proposals – online workshop, 12 March 2024

Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking - Info Day, 23 April 2024
The Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) is a €2 billion partnership between the European Union and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC). The CBE JU are organising an “Info Day” on 23rd April 2024 to give participants insights into the calls for project proposals and to have a better understanding of the submission and evaluation processes.
The Info Day takes place in person (Brussels) and will also be streamed online. Further details and registration are available on the CBE website. Please note that registration closes on 15th April.
Recent changes in the evaluation of ERC Research Proposals
The ERC Scientific Council has implemented changes to the evaluation processes and application forms for 2024 research proposals. ERC President Maria Leptin provides an overview of these changes in the report, entitled “Evaluation of research proposals: the why and what of the ERC’s recent changes”.
