Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships 2023 call

The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF) 2023 call is open and the cribsheet is available on the ROO website. As usual, the MSCA PF submissions to ROO are treated as ‘Small Applications’ in line with the standard ROO submission policies.

ROO deadline

11th September 2023

Funder deadline

13th September 2023 16:00 (17:00 Brussels local time)

UKRO has recorded its webinars from 6th, 8th and 9th June on the MSCA PF 2023 call and these are available on the UKRO website.

Details about applying for the Global Talent Visa should also be read. Any individual requiring specific immigration advice must use an adviser approved through the Office of Immigration Services (OISC) or consult their internal HR / immigration team.

Applying to Horizon Europe

We are getting a lot of questions relating to whether MSCA applicants can apply through UK institutions. The current position is that the UK still hopes to associate to Horizon Europe (HE) and UK institutions are still able to apply to Horizon Europe calls as normal (including MSCA Calls).

The UKRI Guarantee Funding covers successful Horizon Europe applications submitted to calls with a final submission deadline date on or before 30 September 2023 in the event that they cannot sign a grant agreement with the European Commission or delegated party because the UK’s association has not been formalised in time, and therefore cannot receive funding. The MSCA 2023 Postdoctoral Fellowship Call with a deadline of 13th September 2023 is covered by the UKRI Guarantee Funding.

UKRI and DSIT Pioneer Innovation – request for moonshots

What are the major global challenges that will drive the future of research and innovation for the next few decades?

UKRI and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) are seeking your help to identify bold, ambitious, and transformative ideas for moonshots across the research and innovation landscape. This is not a bidding process for funding or delivery responsibility. It’s UKRI and DSIT bringing together diverse teams from across research, industry and business to work together.

The first stage of this process is asking people to submit their ideas before 10th July 2023. The second stage will involve inviting selected participants to present their ideas at a virtual or in person event. More details can be found on the UKRI website.
