Most University funders http://www.data.cam.ac.uk/funders require research data from publicly-funded research to be shared. Four funders have now introduced sanctions for non-compliance with their data sharing policies: BBSRC, EPSRC, ESRC and NERC.
The University of Cambridge has developed dedicated resources to help researchers meet funder’s requirements for sharing research data, available at www.data.cam.ac.uk. Additionally, we can also come to your department to give a short talk to your researchers, research students and staff members about funders’ requirements and help available.
